The people: aka Us! at the Shedd.

We had a good time, and in spite of the lack of flash and moving bodies I got a few decent shots. ;)

Without further ado: The children (and a couple of us thrown in for good measure.)

Just playing around with some photoshop actions. Sometimes when the color is just off, or the photo isn't great I find that actions help distract from the quality with a little fun. ;)

We had lunch on this balcony. Gorgeous view and the weather could not have been more perfect!

Waiting for the show to start.

Blurry, but still a little fun. :)

Touching starfish:

Another friendly stingray. (I know they are friendly because the swim up to the glass just as curious about us as we are about them I suppose. So cute! This one let us see his bottom for a bit. He stayed like this long enough for several more people to take a picture. (After my kids moved of course)

Can you see the anaconda in the background there? This is a skull of a similar sized anaconda.

Evan getting his head compared to a Capybera (thanks Helena!) skull. We determined it would be no trouble for this snake to eat Evan. He thought that was cool. So did his sister....;)

That last picture looks so cool. It looks like the skull is attached to the live snake and coming after your son. Thanks for sharing.

Ooh ooh, I know! Capybara.

"During the Christian observation of Lent, capybara meat is especially popular as it is claimed that the Catholic church, in a special dispensation, classified the animal as a fish. There are differing accounts of how the dispensation arose. The most cited refers to a group of sixteenth-century missionaries who made a request which implied that the semi-aquatic capybara might be a "fish" and also hinted that there would be an issue with starvation if the animal weren't classified as suitable for Lent."

(from Wikipedia. My favorite capybara factoid.)

The kids look so cute in their new glasses!

(The word verification says "umboopa." I think this would be a good name for a capybara.)

LOL! I was going to say the exact thing Sunshine and Shadows said!! Heidi, you and Shawn look great, and I LOVE the picture of your kids sitting on that rock -- Kira with a little sass, and Evan with a smirk. Gorgeous!!
