Happy Birthday Laura!

This is Laura. She is turning 12 today. Her mom is my sister by heart. So Laura is my niece. And I just love this girl to death!

In one year she will be a teenager, and I'm just trying to figure out where on earth the time has gone. I met miss Laura when she was two. It wasn't her finest hour. Jim and Shawn had known each other somehow (through gaming? I don't even know) and they thought it would be good for Lorraine and I to meet. So they invited us to a bbq for dinner. Margo was just about 6 months old and Laura was 21 months. (Do I have that right Lor? My math is not good in the morning) She was sleeping when we got there, but when she woke up she was a terror like no other. She didn't feel well, she had a super snotty nose, and she came out of her room in her diaper, stood there staring and when I tried to say hello she freaked.

Luckily we worked it out.
Somehow she decided I was pretty cool. (Am I still cool Laura? You never know once you are old and a mom, your cool factor tends to wane)

Laura is one of the smartest kids I know. She is just a math and science whiz and just amazes me. She is quiet. But she talks to me. It always makes me feel a little bit special, since she rarely talks to most other people. ;) She also boosts my ego by liking the gifts I choose and she also likes it when I take her shopping for clothes, but that is probably because I have way cooler taste than her mom. ;) (I won't tell her if you don't. ;) )

Laura is going places in this world. She really is. She is going to dominate whatever she decides with her beauty and smarts. The world is a better place because you are in it Laura, and I'm so glad to call you family. ((Hugs)) I hope your day is wonderful, and I wish I could be there to celebrate with you! Eat some extra rainbow cake for me. (No frosting please)
