Green. It's all about perspective.

One of the things I adore about the midwest is the piles of emerald foliage that are seemingly everywhere from spring until fall.

The green is so amazing it seems fake.

Tucson is not green.

It's grey. But for a few weeks in the summer during the monsoon, we are able to enjoy "green". It's a different sort of green. It's a desert green. A shade that most people see as dry and dead. But for us, in comparison to the rest of the year? It's gorgeous.

One of my favorite views is going towards the Catalina mountains in the summer as you drive down Houghton road. The very path we take each Sunday to family dinner as luck would have it. So for a few weeks after the rains I get to enjoy that beauty.

I hear you on green. I'll take it wherever I can get it. I get so excited by even the slightest sheen on trees in the spring.

I just noticed the greenness when I was driving up Melp the other day! It's really beautiful -- even to us, and we were just in CA for a week and Hawaii for 2!
