Family time.

One of the things that I regret most in my life is letting time slip by without seeing my family more often.

I'm so thankful that Shawn was more than happy to stop in Kansas City for an extra day to see my Aunt and cousins, but it felt too short. I need more time! A day isn't long enough. The hours flew by and we had to say good bye again.

Sean and Nick are both amazing fathers. The little boys that call them daddy were well mannered, obedient, and darling to boot.

Kira and Sean Jr. hit it off right away and Lane and Evan were shy but eventually warmed up to each other. Gavin is just a baby, so he just wants to be included any way he can with the big kids. ;0P He was super cute.

We had a bbq and just relaxed. I talked with Nick outside about his little guy, he's had some health issues and I was sorry to hear that. He was really healthy and happy when I met him though.

Sean and I caught up a bit, he plays with electricity for money these days. Sounds about right. And coaches his kids sports.

We just all caught up on what's been going on all these years. Told them about my part of the family.

Then we had dinner, and just enjoyed each others company.

The kids wanted to play with the sand table, even though they might be a little big for it. ;)

Nick and Gavin. Nick's fiance' Rebecca had to work so she wasn't there. Same with Sean's wife.

This is what happens when you play with sand and everyone around you is much taller.

Then all the kids moved onto the Wii. Sean Jr, Kira and Evan glanced at me and went back to their game. Lane fled the scene. He didn't want me to take his picture. Silly boy. I'm not that easy to deter.

He finally gave up and smiled for me. I left him alone after that. ;)

 Well...mostly...

Well. I tried.

You can see where I get my height. (I didn't have a prayer in this family. On either side. It  was hopeless)

I'm Sean's favorite. He loves me best of all the family. (Just ask him. ;) )

I almost forgot to take pictures (which is unheard of) because I was just having a good time being in the moment. Sadly Rebecca stopped by and then they headed home to put Gavin to bed so I didn't get any pictures of them. I took a picture of Aunt Chris and her boys but Nick had his eyes closed. Bummer.

It was so good to see you all again, and lets not make a habit of letting 5 or 10 years go by, or meeting up at funerals.

Anyway, the pic of Gavin(?) with the sand all over him is simply adorable! All the kids are cute!
